The first quarter of 2026 has already passed, and we have already seen the launch of many electric vehicles in the Indian market. The year is going to see more launches of EVs in the next few months from the national and international automakers.
In India, buyers now prefer electric vehicles over internal combustion engine cars. The electric cars that are going to be launched in the remainder of 2026 include the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, Tata Sierra EV, Tata Safari EV, Hyundai Inster and Kia Syros EV.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella
The Urban Cruiser Ebella from Toyota Motors may be introduced in the first half of 2026. It will be available with the ex-showroom price of ₹16 lakh to ₹25 lakh. It's a mid-size SUV with a length, width, height, wheelbase and boot space of 4,285 mm, 1,800 mm, 1,640 mm, 2,700 mm and 310 litres, respectively.
It is set to be available with two LPF battery packs, which are 49 kWh and 61 kWh, giving the IRAI range of 440 km and 543 km, respectively. It gets a single PMS motor on the front axle, i.e., it comes with a FWD drivetrain. It generates 106 bhp for the standard and 128 bhp for the large battery pack, and torque is 193 Nm.
Tata Sierra EV
Tata Motors may launch the Sierra EV in May 2026. It will be introduced in the Indian marksheet with ₹19 lakh to ₹25 lakh in multiple variants. It is a five-seater mid-size SUV with a length of 4340 mm, a width of 1841 mm, a height of 1715 mm, a wheelbase of 2730 mm and a ground clearance of 205 mm.
It may be introduced with three LPF battery packs, which are 55 kWh, 75 kWh and 75 kWh, whose range is likely to be between 500 km and 600 km. It will be available with two drivetrains, which are RWD and AWD, which is equipped with a single motor on the rear axle and one motor on each front and rear axle, respectively.
Tata Safari EV
The Safari EV from Tata Motors is confirmed to be launched in the Indian market in October 2026. The ex-showroom price is expected to start from ₹25 lakh and go up to ₹35 lakh for the top-end variant. It's a three-row SUV in 6-person and 7-person seating configurations with a wheelbase of 2,741 mm.
In the Indian market, the launch will happen with two LPF batteries, and they may be 65 KWh and 75 kWh. The standard range battery pack will be introduced with only a one-motor RWD drivetrain, but the long-range battery packs come with both a one-motor RWD and a double-motor AWD configuration.
Hyundai Inster
Hyundai Motors is most likely to introduce the Inster, an A-segment sub-compact SUV, in June 2026, with the ex-showroom price of ₹9 lakh to ₹12 lakh, depending on the variant. Its five-year sport utility vehicle with length, width, height and wheelbase is 3,825 mm, 1,610 mm, 1,575 mm and 2,580 mm long, wide, high and with a wheelbase, respectively.
The available battery packs are 42 kWh and 49 kWh, whose power outputs are 97 hp and 115 hp, but the peak torque for both is 147 Nm. Its WLTP range depending on the battery pack is 327 km and 370 km. The top speed ranges from 140 to 150 km/h, and 0-100 km/h acceleration is 10.6-11.7 seconds.
Kia Syros EV
The Syros EV from Kia Motors is based on the K1 platform and may be introduced in October 2026. It will be available with the ex-showroom price from ₹14 lakh to ₹20 lakh, depending on the variant. The length, width, height and wheelbase are 3,995 mm, 1,805 mm, 1,625 mm and 2,550 mm, respectively.
It is set to be available in the Indian market with two battery packs that can be 42 kWh and 52 kWh, whose range can be 350 km to 400 km. It will feature a single PMS motor on front wheels, meaning it will come with an FWD drivetrain, and the transmission is going to be single-speed automatic.
