The French automaker, Citroën, launched the eC3, an all-electric five-seater hatchback, back in February 2023. In the Indian market, it is available in two variants that are Feel with an ex-showroom price of ₹12.90 lakh and Shine with an ex-showroom price of ₹13.41 lakh.
The on-road price in New Delhi ranges from ₹13.5 lakh to ₹14.5 lakh depending on the variant and its main rivals in India, the Tiago EV and Punch EV from Tata Motors. To know how much it costs on-road in your city, get in touch with the nearest dealership.
Powertrain & Performance
The eC3 is equipped with a single PMS motor that is bound with a front wheel. It features a front-wheel-drive drivetrain and a single-speed automatic transmission. The motor generates the power of 56 bhp, and its peak torque is 143 Nm; acceleration timing for 0-60 km/h is 6.7 seconds, and top speed is 107 km/h.
It is available with a single lithium-ion battery pack of 29.2 kWh whose Automotive Research Association of India-certified range is 320 km. It supports DC fast chargers up to 50 kW that take 57 minutes for a 10-90% charge. It comes with an on-board 3.3 KW AC charge, which takes 10.5 hours for a full charge.
Design & Exterior

The eC3 has an SUV-inspired hatchback design with a high bonnet and boxy shape. It looks quite rugged and practical even with the compact size.
-
Up front, it features a split headlamp setup. The LED DRLs (daytime running lights) are placed higher and the halogen headlamps lower. It has a flat bonnet that gives a bold and upright stance, and a black bumper at the front adds ruggedness.
-
On the sides, it has a tall body design, giving ample headroom for all occupants and better visibility for the driver. The wheel arches get black cladding and traditional door handles for better practicality.
-
At the rear, it has simple taillights with halogen units but looks modern and a flat tailgate for better boot usability. The bumper at the back also features cladding like the front end, and the windscreen at the rear is quite wide.
The dimensions in terms of length, width, height, wheelbase, and ground clearance are 3981 mm, 1733 mm, 1604 mm, 2540 mm, and 170 mm, respectively. It is available in four colour options, including Polar White, Zesty Orange, Platinum Grey and Steel Grey, and six double-tone options.
Interior & Features

The interior features a simple double-tone dashboard, comes with a seating capacity of five people with a layout of two and three, and the boot space is 315 litres, giving ample boot space to carry three big pieces of luggage.
-
It comes with a 10.2-inch touchscreen screen as an infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. For connectivity, it gets wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and USB sports. The four-speaker sound system gives a theatre-like audio feel.
-
For convenience, it features keyless entry, steering-mounted controls, a height-adjustable driver seat, CarHP India, power windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs, instead of traditional side mirrors.
-
The cabin also gets the MyCitroën Connect app, which has more than 35 features, including vehicle tracking, charging status, geofencing and SOS alerts, among others as well.
-
For the comfort of occupants, its manual air conditioning and rear AC vents keep the driver and co-passenger cool during the Indian summer, and the soft suspension also ensures a smooth ride.
-
To ensure the safety of the driver and co-passenger during the collision, it gets two airbags in the front seat that play a crucial role in saving life. It also gets an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, and a rear parking sensor.
Note that it doesn't have advanced driver-assistance systems, no push-button start, and no cruise control, and the cabin feel is so basic but comfortable, as the seats are made up of fabric.
